What is a Heat Pump?A heat pump is an air source electric hot water system that is used to heat water for domestic use. It's essentially like a reverse cycle air conditioner. To heat water, a heat pump takes heat out of the atmosphere, and transfers this heat to the water that needs heating via a heat exchanger.
Heat pumps use a relatively small amount of electricity to extract heat energy from the air making it at least three times more efficient than a conventional electric or gas water heater. When installed correctly heat pumps save energy, save money and reduce carbon emissions.
How long does it take to install a heat pump?
Heat pumps can be easily installed in the same location as your existing hot water system, with no additional components to assemble on site. The entire installation takes up to as little as 3 hours.
